Then They That Gladly Received HIS WORD …Were Baptized

We will learn about the first church that assembled after the ascension of Jesus into the clouds to sit at the right hand of the Father. In this text, this new Kingdom of God upon earth was perfectly outlined by God, that we might live as He lived. We are being taught by the Apostles that walked with Him as they obeyed His commandment to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature!

The Apostles were filled with the Holy Ghost at the beginning of Acts 2.
When “…they were all with one accord in one place…”, the Holy Spirit fell upon them and they were filled with the Holy Spirit. They began to speak in languages, just like the languages of those visitors that needed to hear the truth. The “devout” Jews that were at Jerusalem were there for the feast of Pentecost [50 days after the Passover].

These men all spoke different languages, but God gave the Apostles the
power to speak to them in every dialect that these men spoke. This truly was a miracle as everyone could see. After addressing the crowd that gathered around the apostles, Peter preached the truth unto them! His words outlined to them their need for repentance! [Acts 2:22-23]
